SHOW #1 See the seminal first episode of one mans god-like vision to create television in his own image! Mining the fringes of the mainstream, Guttervision gets the lowdown on punk-Mistress Duchess De Sade and her quest to combine sadism and art. Kristall Kross, the female counterpart to Ron Atheys aesthetic vision, discusses her art and the joys of bloodletting amidst video clips of her high-tech horror (look for a rare cameo by the late Bob Flannagan). A short film entitled "Cuticles" deconstructs the creeping conformity that permeates our lives while the inaugural first segment of "Strong Words" features a poet whos eeasy-going style of delivery slowly explodes into verbal venom. Get the episode that started the madness! SHOW #5 Very little has been documented on film about nihilistic shock rocker GG Allins ill-fated trip to the city of Lost Angels two weeks before his death - until now! This rare show chronicles Allins disastrous final LA show with both victims and fans of his madness bearing their souls to the camera amidst classic shit-smeared Allin footage. The episode also includes a series of in-your-face films depicting suicidal cows, the sensuous joy of squishing table fruits and the true aesthetic beauty of sewage. Keep an eye out for a white-hot Janes Addiction video that sent MTV executives running for the hills. Destined to be a collectors item! SHOW #6 "The World According to Answer Me" has Guttervision chatting with the most hated (and hate filled) zine editors in the world. While counting off shotgun rounds earmarked for their fellow zine editors/enemies, Answer Mes Jim and Debbie Goad find time to voice their opinions on wholesome subjects like rape, guns, menstruation and other joys of life. The envelope gets pushed further as thrash band Life of Agony chat about skinhead values while mutant painter Todd Schorr discusses his twisted inspirations. Topping it off, "Strong Words" rears its ugly head withan interesting diatribe against dog ownership. Do you really want to watch "Baywatch" with a million other sheep? Check this show out before the FCC gets wind of it! SHOW #7 Long before the coffee house crowd "discovered" the artistic self-mutilation of Ron Athey, Guttervision devoted an entire show to this aesthetic iconoclast. In a probing interview, Athey discusses his all-American religious upbringing, the early punk scene, piercing, and other "inspirations" that helped spawn his blood soaked performance art. This episode also features rare clips of Atheys performances that arent for the weak at heart (or mind)! Watch helplessly as Ron lets you feel his pain by recreating the addiction and self-abuse of his formative years using multiple syringes and a straight razor! Undeniably real! Undeniably Guttervision! SHOW #9 As beats crackle like machine gun fire, Guttervision brings you the mind-bending sounds of Crash Worship. The show also features Fetish artist Todd Friedman who discusses his strange metamorphosis from respected sports photographer to his current incarnation as Man Ray of the PVC set. Bringing the chaos to a fever pitch, like nails screeching across a chalkboard, another installment of "Strong Words," explodes across the screen. This ersatz confession of faith depicts a new model liturgy which drags religion kicking and screaming into the "no-nonsense 90s." Franks much discussed ninth effort spontaneously combusts with a final animated short showing the polar extreme of consumer dissatisfaction. See it now before the FCC does! SHOW #19 In this volatile show Guttervision examines new realms of fear. Viewers are offered lethal tips toward being a successful serial killers and are led down a dark alley of terror in, "Space Brat," a post-industrial cartoon character who explores the behavioral cues that define cinematic horror. The episode also features a fascinating road trip to "Nomad" piercing in San Francisco to discuss our Jungian need to reconnect with our primitive, blood-soaked past. Pouring gas on the fire, non-conformist photographer Mark Coleman projects images of our barbaric ancestors while starkly exposing the varied layers of femininity. "Strong Words" presents a demonic free-verse poet whose well-clipped verse crackles like machine gun fire. A slashing unreleased video by Morphine completes this roller coaster ride through the humans psyche! See it and be aware! SHOW #27 Opening with soft music and subliminal urgings to kill, this eclectic show features "Cal," foreman of a cadre of blue collar art commandos known as the "Seemen" whose "art of the ephemeral spectacle" would give any job safety inspector nightmares. The episode also includes a rarevideo by "Sons of Elvis" that the "suits" at MTV wouldnt touch. On the poetry front, Frank debuts "Bert," the most graphic poet on the planetreading his most recent (and gore-filled) verse. Two provocative experimental films fill out the bill with a Yuletide vignette that will give viewers a completely new understanding of the old Christmas adage about giving better than receiving. A true Guttervision experience! SHOW #28 In this darkly brooding show, Guttervision bravely journeys into the dark side of the American sexual experience. Backed by industrial and tribal beats, a veritable gallery of sexual deviants are depicted in this video celebration of unbridled lust. Keep a sharp eye out for multiple cameos by blood-splattered performance artist Ron Athey and others. The show also includes "Blood bath," an aptly titled erotic short film celebrating the ritual practice of bloodletting. Be warned! This aint the Playboy Channel! SHOW #30 Beginning with an artfully crafted montage of cop scenes, crucifixes and other surreal images, Franks fifth effort explores the sordid world of fetish photo queen/ exhibitionist Doris Kloster and her sidekick"Bambi," as the two discuss her erotic photos along with the joys of spanking and (being spanked). This is followed by a chilling experimental film by Kadet Kuhne which takes sex on film to its logical conclusion. A scathing poem discussing power and greed is delivered froma peep show booth interspersed with ear shattering videos by Tracy Bonham and Fluffy. Definite Guttervision fare! SHOW #31 Guttervision gets to the bottom of artist Greg Webers "bastardized mutant doll creatures" in a vignette aptly titled "Welcome to the Dollhouse." The show also explores the world of Ralph Whittington, a mild-mannered Washington bureaucrat who has made archiving American pornography his raison d etre. Look for rare celebrity cameos in a chilly underground film by Mark Hejnar and check out yet another classic video by Nine Inch Nails courtesy of Guttervision. Once again Frank ventures where few fear to tread! Show #33 Guttervision has never been for the squeamish and "Wedding Ceremony" is a testament to this axiom. In a graphic celebration of pre-literate man, performers Ron Athey, Crystal and Pig Pen push television to a level inconceivable in its modern incarnation as they revel in a bloody nuptial accentuated by grinding drums. Never missing a beat, Frank quickly switches gears with a fascinating film exploring the life of a New York bike messenger (who delivers a legally questionable product) followed by another classic installment of Eric Bart Rosners "The Adventures of Waterbong." A rare clip of the late Bob Flanagan explaining the therapeutic benefits of masochism to the tune of a well-known Mary Poppins song may have Disney attorneys reaching for their cell-phones. Before you can say "sensory overload," the episode closes with the frenetic energy and in-your-face aggression of Germanys legendary Atari Teenage Riot. The show is a cathode ray mushroom cloud! SHOW #34 Frank chats with bondage/piercing photo artist Todd Friedman, who reveals the finer points of his oeuvre followed by a graphic unreleased video by Porno for Pyros which includes bloody piercing scenes. Guttervision also dissects the mind of "Reverend" Al, front man for LAs notorious Cacophony Society. As he discusses the groups "Network of Weirdness," video snapshots of their "Burning Man" celebration splash across the screen. "Offerings," a monolithic short film by Smudge, expertly combines dark gothic images and music for maximum effect. Another ear-splitting unreleased vid is included along with classic graphics and video outtakes courtesy of Guttervision. See it and be part of history in the making! Show #35 A Guttervision must see! This multi-media tribute to Americas fascination with the automobile features a rare interview with turbo-powered 70s comic genius "Rat Fink" discussing the aesthetics of hot rod culture. This is followed by the noir animation of Ciero Nieli whose "Last Exit" takes viewers on a ride through a Texas Border town with Harry Morton, a wanted serial killer fleeing to Mexico to live out leisure cat dreams. Frank showcases another segment of "Strong Words" in which the perils of mixing psychodelics and law enforcement are didactically revealed. "Welcome to the Autoshow is a Guttervision primer on the seedy underbelly of automobile locomotion. Two videos deemed verboten by the cable music cartel also premiere exclusively on this soon-to-be collectors item! Get it while its available! Show #36 This Guttervision celebration of the weird begins with another installment of Eric Bart Rosners "The Adventures of Water Bong." In this suspense-filled episode, the fearless water bong breaks out of a Turkish prison. Next, in "Man vs. Metal," antiquated slave culture collides with stark pre-millenial reality in a fascinating Q & A with multiculturally-influenced sculptor Richard Gerrish who shapes and twists indifferent shards of metal into interactive representations of post-industrial culture. A forbidden video by a well-known noise band is offset by Trent Harriss ethereal cinematic tribute to the Burning Man Festival. Backed by a haunting Spanish folk melody, this rich film captures the transcendental nature of this yearly gathering in the Mojave desert. See it and tell your grandkids about it! |
